The League of Elder is rife with
LosCapricos
weapons, for good or for bad. Each Great House has its own.
A person cannot be denied the right to bear a LosCapricos
weapon
and no murders may be commited with them--they hold a special and
exempted place in League law. Some are standard weapons:
swords,
knives and axes with an odd twist thrown in, others are technological
in nature such as guns and rifles, and a few are completely
bizarre defying easy explanation. Facing a
LosCapricos
weapon in battle can be a baffling and frustrating experience, as if
you don't know what you're up against, any innocent sword, knife, gun
or trinket could suddenly summon lightning, raise the dead, turn you to
ashes or worse! Your best defense is knowledge, to know what
you're up against and plan accordingly.

Classifications:
ALLYSON: Other, (House Colt) --The ALLYSON is a savage leather whip the is usually around eight feet long. The handle of the whip is normally mounted with a large jewel, usually an emerald. The whip, when correctly used, can expand in length, up to about a hundred feet. It can also go around corners
ANGRY MISER: Other (House Sorranson):A bizarre weapon, the ANGRY MISER is a length of wire similar to the SURRET of House Mystery. The House of Sorranson, prior to their leaving the League for the Xaphans, were known for their greedy ways, pinching pennies and hoarding cash. They were said to have amassed a massive treasure trove full of fabulous riches and guarded it with the ANGRY MISER. The weapon appears as a long length of wire that can be strung around a room or other similar enclosure. Hanging from the wire are a number of metal charms. There are several types of charms generally found on the wire: Eyes (eyeballs), Animal (or Monster), Man-shaped.
The wire is able to detect the slightest of movements, it can also detect heat, sounds and other telling indications that an intruder is present. The Eye charms are capable of moving along the length of the wire, where they fire any number of energy beams, projectiles, gases and mists, and other killing substances intended to either kill or capture the intruder. If the Eye charms fail, the next line of defense are the Animal charms. They drop off the wire and turn into full-sized, real life animals or monsters, and attack without mercy. The final defense is the Man-Shaped charm. If it drops off the line, the owner of the ANGRY MISER (most likely a Lord of Sorranson) will appear where he may defend his goods himself.
ARLISS:
Wand (House Dare) --The ARLISS of House Dare is
a neat, useful weapon. In its resting state in is a small wand easily
carried in a coat pocket. It is usually made of gold, platinum or
bronze, though it also has been known to be made of wood, ivory and
pearl. Upon Command, the ARLISS envelops its user in a flexible armor
coating resembling the material used in its construction. This armor is
quite effective is stopping most weapons and projectiles including
high-powered projectile and energy weapons. Conversely, the user of the
ARLISS can use it to envelop an enemy, rendering them unable to move a
muscle.
BAZU: Wand, (House Welk) --A small wooden stick
anywhere from one and a half to three feet long. It is always capped
with an elaborate silver, pewter or bronze headpiece. The BAZU can,
when used by a master, trace out a glowing blue line of energy in the
air from the headpiece. This blue energy will then travel forward from
the user approximately one hundred to three hundred feet. Any organic
matter that is unprotected either by shield or by armor will be cleanly
cut through. The BAZU is not effective against shielding or armor.
BEOL: Other (House Conwell) --The BEOL is a long wooden tube about four feet in length. The BEOL can, when properly used, create a powerful vortex of wind , akin to an artificially created tornado that is fully capable of scattering whole armies or leveling a castle.
BEREN: Sword, (House Xandarr) --The BEREN is a light, rapier-style sword that is composed of an unknown blend of metals that render the blade invisible to all but the wielder. The blade may be retracted and put out the other end of the silver hilt (which is visible).
BESSAMER: Staff, (House Hobby) --A long staff, usually four and a half to six feet long, made of ivory, but can also be made of soapstone, whalebone or hardened chalk. The top of the BESSAMER is normally decorated with an open-mouthed creature of myth, usually a dragon. The BESSAMER will create speeding balls of fire and can travel for a considerable distance before diminishing. The fire created by a BESSAMER is very difficult to extinguish.
BLACK AGGIE: Other, (House Clovis) –A strange and morbid weapon, the Black Aggie is the only LosCapricos weapon that is not of a set type or class—a BLACK AGGIE can be any inanimate object. Keys, tombstones, lockets and items of clothing have been known to be BLACK AGGIES. A person wielding a BLACK AGGIE may summon the dead, who will serve the user as a slave. Horror of Burgos was known to carry the tombstone of his enemy around and summon his dead body to him on demand.
BLOODSTEIN:
Sword (House Bloodstein) -- Sword once said to
be carried by Rachina, the first Countess of Bloodstein, the BLOODSTEIN
is a huge weapon that does a vast amount of damage. Only those of the
Bloodstein line are able to lift and use it.
CARG: Sword, (House Blanchefort) --The CARG is a tube or pole-shaped, hilted shaft that is usually adjustable in length. The materials and general appointments of the weapon vary greatly, but, the CARG is generally a rather heavy weapon. The surface of the CARG’s tube feels smooth to the touch, however when moved in the correct fashion, it can slice through most any material it contacts, the cutting stroke making a characteristic whistling or droning sound.
CEROS: Other (House Probert) --The CEROS is a small hand-held metal device composed of five interlocking metal arms. It is normally made of either gold or silver. When thrown, the CEROS converts into a plasma-like form of energy and will fly in a straight line regardless of wind or other influences. At a pre-determined distance, the CEROS will reverse its course and return to the thrower’s hand. The CEROS may also be bounced off of obstacles. It will penetrate any organic matter effortlessly. It may be effective against armored targets at short range.
CRANIMER:
Other (House Durst) --The CRANIMER is an enigma
and an embarrassment for House Durst. It is an odd collection of tubes,
wires and balls that no current Durst knows how to properly assemble or
fire. Ancient stories tell of the CRANIMER being able to hit vessels in
orbit from the ground.
DEATHLOKK: Gun (House Rostov) --The DEATHLOKK is a long rifle that, even among LosCapricos weapons, is controversial. The user of a DEATHLOKK is, according to legend, able to “Call the Shot,” meaning the user need merely state the name of the person they wish to shoot, and the bullet fired from the barrel will find the stated target, even if he be thousands of miles away. The victim may be fully protected by obstructions, such as a tree, rooftop, etc, also the victim, if struck, may or may not be killed, merely wounded. If it can be proved that a bullet comes from a DEATHLOKK, the firer may be prosecuted if murder was the intent.

FEDULA: Sword (House Prentiss): --The FEDULA of House Prentiss looks like a well-made rapier. Though it is a light, fast weapon, it strikes with the weight and apparent mass of a much larger and heavier sword.
FENNISTER: Other (House Oyln) --The FENNISTER is a strong metal whip about ten feet long. When correctly used, the FENNISTER can stretch out to about a hundred feet. The FENNISTER will also, without fail seek out the head of a victim and lop it off with a single stroke. Armor and shielding is largely ineffective against it. The only drawbacks of the FENNISTER are that it is fairly slow to use and it is extremely noisy.
FUUMALUU: Other (House Hooper)--The FUUMALUU is a small soapstone carving coming in various colors. It resembles a vauglely man-shaped figure generally lacking hands, feet and a head. Small and diffcult to detect, the FUUMALUU may be left in various locations for long periords of time. There, they will remain untill triggered. The FUUMALUU may be given complex and specific instructions which they will follow until otherwise commanded. When triggered, the FUUMALUU grows to man-sized and attacks with great hardness and stength.
GALVATAR: Other (House Midas) --A forbidden weapon, the GALVATAR comes in many forms. It has been seen as a large purse, handbag, suitcase, steamer trunk and cursed closet. From within the depths of the GALVATAR, no matter what form it takes, a user may pull any other type of LosCapricos weapon. These “Galvatars” as they are know, are fully functional and transcend gender and other usage restrictions imposed upon genuine LosCapricos articles. A Galvatar may be identified by their coal black appearance. The only LosCapricos weapon not reproducible by the GALVATAR is the NIGHTMARE of House Monama. The Sisterhood of Light, in 00024ex declared the GALVATAR illegal and attempted to confiscate and destroy them, however, they were unsuccessful in purging all of them.
GEORGE WIND: Sword (House Hanover) --A light, sabre-like sword usually made of folded brass, the weapon, in the hands of a trained master, would float and fight by itself.
GRAMPA: Axe (House Vincent) --The GRAMPA is a five-headed axe that, when used by a master, could engage five separate targets at once. The problem was that it was so difficult to properly use it often was responsible for the death of its user and was a source of embarrassment for House Vincent.
GREAT DORE: Wand (House Zenon) --The GREAT DORE resembles a small silver stick about a foot long that can easily fit in a coat pocket. There is a hidden button that, when pressed, expands the GREAT DORE to about five and a half feet in length. When swung or thrown, the shaft of the GREAT DORE converts into a vigorous plasma state that is very dangerous to the touch. Additionally, the GREAT DORE can sprout a number of plasma arms radiating outward from the center like a thistle seed, thus a single weapon can impale a number of closely packed targets. Those who have mastered the weapon can recall it to them with a wave of the hand.

HARBOR LIGHTS: Other (House Witherspoon): The HARBOR LIGHTS is an odd but effective counter weapon. Taking the form of a stuffed bear or other type of stuffed animal with odd, gemlike eyes, the HARBOR LIGHTS effectively absorbes the power of other LosCapricos weapons, rendering them dead. It does not work against weapons that rely on cutting, however, all other LosCapricos weapons will not function in the HARBOR LIGHTS presence. Once it has absorbed the power of other LosCapricos weapons, it may fire a deadly blue beam from its eyes causing instant death. The meaning of its name is unknown.
HOMMA WAND: Club (House Burgos):The HOMMA WAND of House Burgos is a tiny, light weight hammer, that may fit easily in a pocket or in the palm of the hand. However, to be struck with it is utterly devastating. Similar to the FEDULA of House Prentiss, the HOMMA WAND hits with the force of a huge, heavy hammer, and witnesses attest to it leveling buildings at a single hit. The HOMMA WAND is often mounted at the end of long sticks and poles to make up for its decided lack of range. It is said that the HOMMA WAND contains a fraction of the power of Lord Homma, the ancient Vith lord known for his great strength.
HRN: Other (House Belmont-South Tyrol) The HRN is a long, dark green coat that once belonged to the Hoban Royal Navy. The coat was acted upon by the Sisterhood of Light and made nearly indestructible by them. The wearer of the HRN may be fully protected from heat, cold, energy and projectile weaponry. The wearer ay also leap from great heights and not be harmed by the fall. Additionally, the HRN is particularly adept at cancelling the various effects of other LosCapricos weapons. The HRN is a unique item and must be passed down. It cannot be recreated.
ILLIMINATOR: Wand (House Grimm):A rather despised LosCapricos weapon, the ILLIMINATOR is a hornblende wand said to be able to inflict sickness and disease on the normally robust Elder-Kind.
ILTHATRON: Other (House Sorrander): An elegant watch fob with a long chain, the ILTHATRON is a handy LosCapricos weapon. It may bring back any from the death provided they have been dead less than an hour. The gold chain wraps around the neck of the deceased and pumps life back into their body. It even heals damage. Once an hour has elapsed, that is it--the person is dead forever.
JULETTO:
Wand (House Holly) –A nondescript wand, the
JULETTO may summon severe storms.

MAIAX: Other (House Bodice): --The MAIAX was an onyx carving of an elephant, a creature that was the supposed protector of the House of Bodice. The MAIAX was supposed to grow into a full-sized elephant that could cast gouts of lightning from its tusks. When the Bodice left the League and were made extinct, the MAIAX fell out of existence, right along with its House.
MARTIN: Sword (House Gamboa):--The MARTIN is a slim, light-weight sword that resembles a rapier. In battle, as the wielder becomes more and more angry, the MARTIN becomes more and more dangerous, eventually seeking out vital organs on its own and making each stroke a “kill shot”. It is a misconception that the MARTIN invariably seeks the head of a victim, if the head is the most vulnerable vital area, then it will seek the head, but will strike any vital area that is within easy reach.
MARZABLE: Knife (House Tyrol)—The MARZABLE of House Tyrol is a small throwing dagger. It is said that, when concealed upon a person’s body, it cannot be detected either by scan or by frisk. Also, a person hiding a MARZABLE upon their person may freely throw the dagger and never run out of them.
MOLLY: Other (House A-Ram): --The MOLLY is a strange LosCapricos weapon. It is a golden charm, usually in the shape of a fish. The MOLLY is purported to allow the user to know things he or she should not know, and do things he or she shouldn’t be able to do. It is said using the MOLLY too much will bring a demon to steal the user’s soul, though this notion is unconfirmed.
MT CALM: Club (House Woolover) --A rather modest LosCapricos weapon, the MT CALM is a medium-sized wooden club, usually carved in a mosaic depicting some story or other event pertinent to House Woolover doings. It is turned from heartwood of the acacia tree, sacred of the Elder Auld using blessed gouges. When striking a victim, the MT CALM has the effect of greatly subduing the person, either putting them to sleep altogether or calming them to the point of total passivity. As a bizarre side-effect, the MT CALM transforms beers and spirits at a prodigious rate into clear, cold water, able to drain a barrel of grog with a single hit. It is said the MT CALM is the only LosCapricos weapon designed by a woman, Countess Thomasina of Woolover who was a noted prohibitionist. It is said she and a group of similarly minded Ladies would storm various pubs and drinking establishments and, using the MT CALM, clear the place and destroy the booze within.
NTH: Gun (House Belmont) –An elegant, long barreled pistol, the Nth of House Belmont is a greatly respected LosCapricos weapon. The Nth is said to be capable of killing anything, no matter what the victim’s form or composition. A common nick-name for the Nth is “Ghost-slayer.”
NAS: Knife (House Albans) --A small jeweled knife with a glowing blade, the NAS is a very effective and possibly lethal weapon. It is one of the few LosCapricos weapons that is available for use outside of its creating house, being small and effective it was quite popular with Ladies of Standing and courtesans as an easily concealable weapon. A wound from a NAS, no matter how small, will gush blood and will not stop until Hospitaller intervention is applied. A victim may bleed to death from the smallest of scratches if proper aid is not administered.
NIGHTMARE: Other (House Monama) --A black hair pin set with a large facetted crystal, usually an obsidian or similarly dark jewel, the NIGHTMARE of House Monama is, most likely, the most feared and despised of all LosCapricos weapons. Used primarily by women, the NIGHTMARE is said to control nothing less than the fabric of reality itself. A Monama matriarch wearing the NIGHTMARE may bend reality to her desires. It is said the Sisters closely watch House Monama and, any use of this device outside of their stronghold will bring a swift and deadly reprisal. It is a well hidden secret that the Fleet has been marshaled to confront House Monama many times, the NIGHTMARE being taken very seriously by the Sisters.

RED HAW: Other (House Milton) --A sadistic weapon that can be set and left to ambush a victim, many Houses have petitioned for the RED HAW to lose its LosCapricos status. It is a four inch long brass capsule usually decorated in the Onaris style. Contained within the capsule are five tightly contained lengths of coiled wire, and when the capsule opens, the wire lengths savagely uncoil and twist about, resembling the growth of a hawthorn bush. Anything caught within this cloud of twisting wire is horribly killed
SAPP: Other (House Ruthven) --The SAPP is a unique LosCapricos weapon. It is a strange type of fabric that can be mentally molded into any number of shapes, including swords, shields etc. When in a molded shape, the SAPP is extremely hard and sharp. Ruthvens usually wear the SAPP on their person as clothing, such as a scarf, neck-tie or other innocuous article.
SMOKLESS: Gun (House Crossland) –The SMOKLESS is a long, musket-like rifle of House Crossland. Like the DEATHLOKK, it is a weapon, that, once fired, never misses its target. Unlike the DEATHLOKK, however, the SMOKLESS must be aimed at a particular target. The SMOKLESS is invariably fatal when fired, never missing its target and never wounding.
SURRET
: Other (House Mystery) –The SURRET of House
Mystery is just that, a mystery. It appears as a simple piece of string
that is usually worn wrapped around the wrist like a gauntlet. It is
reported that, when the SURRET is wrapped around an object, such as a
weapon, person or animal, that object “disappears” into the folds of
the string. These objects may be stored there indefinitely and
retrieved at a later time. Reports of Mystery fighters pulling
impossibly huge and ancient weapons and beasts out of the SURRET are
rampant.
TREMBLEHORN: Other (House Thompson): A small, trumpetlike horn, the TREMBLEHORN of House Thompson is a powerful weapon. When blown, any within earshot of its sound are suddenly enthralled to the will of the hornblower, and will not be released until the blower wishes. Stories tell of whole villages coming to the rescue of a Thompson after blowing the horn. There is a litany that may be recited that will protect a person from the power of the TREMBLEHORN.
TWO TREES: Other (House Champion) – An armored gorget, the TWO TREES is considered a very potent LosCapricos weapon, and a rather unfair one as well. The TWO TREES, when used in battle, may animated any normally inanimate object, such as a tree, a rock or a house and command it as needed. These animated constructs are very powerful and can do a lot of damage. It was said that Arvor, Lord of Champion was inspired while watching the Sisters battle a Black Hat who had created an army of Shadow tech tree beasts.
There are no Weapons for U.
VERDIS: Other (House Fallz) --A beautiful weapon to behold, the VERDIS is, nevertheless, considered a rather poor LosCapricos weapon. It is a large jeweled net, the interior of which is covered with serrated blades. In theory, any person caught in this net would be cut to pieces. The trouble is the VERDIS is so large and heavy that it is impossible to use with any effect. The legend that the ancient fathers of House Fallz were giants rings true here.
VERY MARY: Other (House Caroline) –An odd weapon used solely by ladies of House Caroline, the VERY MARY is a type of garter worn on the leg. Should danger befall a lady of Caroline, the VERY MARY instantly transports them away from danger to their ancestral home in the Hala region of Kana. This teleportational effect continues to this day, even though the Carolines left the League and became Xaphans long ago. Though Xaphans, the Carolines always maintained a friendly relationship with the League and those occasional Caroline ladies who suddenly appear in the ruins of their ancestral home can always expect assistance in either returning to their Xaphan world, or in relocating in the League.
VUNKULA: Other (House Grenville) --One of the most cosmopolitan of the LosCapricos family, it is a belt that can be worn like any other. The end of the tail normally sports either a barb or a hand-like attachment. Attached to the back of the belt is a segmented metal tail, usually made of a combination of gold, silver, platinum and other assorted jewels. A skilled practitioner may animate the tail and it will move as if alive. The tail can move with great speed, and is often dipped into various powders and ointments for a variety of effects.
